EBU COUNCIL & GENERAL MEETING

The EBU Annual General Meeting will take place on Saturday 24th May 2008

in BUDVA (Montenegro) at the Hotel Splendid.

On Friday 23rd May 2008 there will be the Council Meeting.

More than eighty attendants, coming from twenty countries, with an important new delegation from Russia, Ukraine and Belarus, attended the Ring Official’s Seminar of the European Boxing Union (EBU) in Geneva on the 29th of March.

 Under the guidance of Peter Stucki and Charles Giles, many attendants gave their opinion, and the intervention of Mickey Vann, Massimo Barovecchio, Dave Parris, Erkki Meronen, Guido Cavalleri and Sergio Silvi were particularly interesting.

In the closing speech, E.B.U. President Bob Logist underlined the difficult task to be an EBU Judge or Referee, and pointed out how important it is to have a good scholarship in one’s own Federation.

 The Seminar was followed up by a bowling tournament for all attendants, in a very friendly atmosphere. 

Participants from the Swedish and British team won the trophy, the other ones got away with back aches but everyone had great fun.

EBU COUNCIL MEETING

The main decisions adopted at the Council Meeting held in Minsk on 20 th October 2007:

•  The composition of the Ratings Commission will be based on a rotation system. Except for the President Mr Bob Logist and the Chairman Mr Pertti Augustin, one of the 3 other members shall be replaced every 6 months. The first replacement will be held on 1st January 2008.

 

•  Starting from 1st January 2008 every Federation is entitled to 3 additional votes for each European Championship contest executed by their affiliated promoters during the calendar year and to 1 additional vote for the EU, External-EU and Women championships.

EBU Rates up-to-date to 1st July 2007

The EBU, EU and Women Championships rates are as follows:

EBU Championships (1 Referee + 3 Judges):

Officials: € 700,00 - Supervisor: € 700,00 - Belt: € 500,00

Championships of the European Union & External-EU (1 Referee + 3 Judges):

- Officials: € 400,00 - Supervisor: € 400,00 - Belt: € 500,00

Women EBU Championships (1 Referee + 3 Judges):

Officials: € 300,00 - Supervisor: € 300,00 - Belt: € 250,00

The amount due to the EBU, as minimum sanction fee for the European Championships, shall be as follows:

- From flyweights to super-featherweights included: € 4.700,00

- From lightweights to middleweights included: € 4.850,00

- From super-middleweights to heavyweights: € 5.000,00

For the EU Championships : € 2.000,00

For the Women Championships: € 1.000,00
